I dunno what's up with CYA because he always seemed like he fit in very well and enjoyed it here. A few wise ass posters and flood control shouldnt have bothered him at all. How many times does anyone actually make multiple postings in the same minute anyway?


The name removal thing was uncalled for, IMO. That really messes up the way threads look...unfortunately I know that all too well.


The admin here at HB works extremely hard for very little in return. I would've thought CYA would recognize this and accept the fact that not every problem he may have can be solved immediately. Maybe it can somewhere else...but at what price?

Maybe all of this has been mentioned before...I'd be lying if I said I read through more than a quarter of the posts in this thread....so if this is all repeated, please accept my sincerest apologies.

Lots of stuff I agree with and a lot of stuff I don't....

I understand if CYA wanted to go... he goes... he is gone.... regardless the reasons.... last I checked it was a free country and thats his right to go... I have wished him well many times and I mean that from my heart... I still consider him friend and would greatly accept him back.... with open arms...

BUT deleting his ID just seemed very harsh... perhaps I am just taken it personal... but it was like saying none of us mattered and not worth staying in touch with.... yes and it makes his previous posts look awkward.... Sure find a better place for his boards... but we had to go too????? I didn't get that...

His behavior seemed very odd recently considering what we all are used to seeing and experiancing... he seem to take something that was minor and get excessively angry about it.... Just what I saw...

The service is free and a few... as few as they are.... minor lil inconveinences are worth dealing with.... this place just gets better and better as time goes by....

I am a real advocate of HB... been here a while now and I would recommend this board system to anyone... as I am sure there are other systems out there perhaps with more to offer.... the people...support and the community here is what I cherish.... I too remember this place back in the old days and its amazing now... Steven, Concorde, everyone.... I think you have done a utterly fabulous job.... you have an amazing team that supports you.... I take my hat off to you all....

Steven this is where we disagree, while it might not make enough to declare to the IRS, it is still considered a business, because your offering message boards to the public.

So the public is getting something from you, hence you are obligated to give this system the support it needs.


I am not trying to offend anyone here. I am just stating my views on this subject, so please don't take offence to what I say.

Flood Control is a very serious issue, which has been taken care of at the system that hosts my board, so as Blaze was saying if she tried to come and flood my board with posts, she wouldn't be able to. So I don't need to ban anyone.

However even if I did, I have several options available to me. I can ban by name, email address, and IP address, whether it be a single IP or a range of IP addresses.

And this is also being upgaded in v.4 comming out soon.

The system that hosts my board is coded, and created by a single person who considers what he is doing a busness, and not a hobby. sure he needs help to admin the support board, but he has managed to offer a free support service to his clientel.

Well back to HB before I get banned for spamming LOL.

Steven, I do give credit where credit is due, and you have done a wonderful job with HB because I remember it back when it was on the old system, and taking it from that to what it is now is no easy job,I do feel that support could be handled differently here, but again thats only my opinion, and there are several here that would disagree with me, and thats ok. We wouldn't be human if we agreed with everything everyone said.
